Construction Manager of this highway and bridge project which involved reconstruction and additional lanes on both eastbound and westbound sides of I-88 from York Road to the Spring Road exit. Darrin and his construction management team led the delivery of this successful project within budget, scope, and schedule. This project was featured nationally by Road & Bridges Magazine as the number 8 project in the nation for 2008. Rankings are based on project size, complexity, safety, and successful delivery. The project also included the rehabilitation of Toll Plaza 51 and the cross mainline tunnel associated with the control building and annex building. This was a $48 million 3-year project that demonstrated Mr. Beier’s ability to manage a staff on a project involving extremely high volumes of traffic (380,000 vehicles per day). Staging and phasing were complex elements that required the ability to work closely with the contractor and the adjacent projects to ensure seamless MOT (traffic control). This project was completed in December 2009.
