Resident Engineer of this project, which involved a $130 million phased runway extension project at the Gary International Airport in Gary, Indiana. The project involved the relocation of an 8 mile section of the Canadian National Railway to allow for the extension of an exiting airport runway. Construction of a grade separation (4 lane highway bridge) over both existing and relocated rail tracks, construction of an additional Canadian National railroad bridge, 8 miles of new track grading and track construction, and the signal/ communication system associated with the new track were separate contracts making up the overall project. Management of this project required simultaneous coordination, day to day scheduling, inspection, and direction of multiple contracts and contractors. This project entailed approximately 18 separate construction contracts and six contractors.
