Client: Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD)
Location: NW Indiana (South Bend) to Downtown Chicago
Construction Manager for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) Southshore commuter rail signal and overhead catenary rehabilitation project. A nine year project that entailed complete design/build rehabilitation of the entire 75 miles of Southshore Line signal system, communication system and catenary (overhead electric) system. Multiple contracts, phases and stages. Our team developed and managed all processes associated with complete design/build construction management. Document control processes, scheduling, pay applications, change orders, submittal control / review, design coordination and client/contractor relationship were all critical tasks associated with this project. Processes were developed specifically for the project and for the client. A vibrant, successful client/construction manager relationship was realized with staff offices at NICTD Engineering in Michigan City, IN.
