Beier Engineering, LLC provides a one stop complete design package for commercial & residential buildings as well as commercial & residential site development. Our goal is to guide our clients through the commercial building and site development design/ state permitting process while minimizing the design budget and project approval complexities. Relating to residential home design; we interactively work with you to create your unique dream home. We also provide subdivision design related to residential and commercial land development. Complete design and permitting of: grading, stormwater management, hydraulic analysis/drainage, roads, sewer & water Extensions, stream crossings and DNR permitting.

This consulting practice is a culmination of Darrin’s 30 years as a Designer, Project Manager and Construction Manager. The last seven years as Beier Engineering, he has provided design services for projects in Wisconsin, MN and IA related to commercial building design, site development and residential homes. Darrin’s unique background entails successful career positions in the three main branches of Civil Engineering: Consultant, Contractor, and Government. As a Design and Construction Manager for a National Engineering Consulting firm, Darrin successfully delivered projects for both private and governmental clients. As a Project Manager for major Midwest contractors, he developed and honed skills in construction methods, contract management, scheduling, estimating, complex building techniques, and people management. The third branch of a complete Civil Engineer’s career path, government service, was successfully fulfilled by Darrin as the City Engineer of River Falls, WI. This phase taught him the importance of representing citizens and the realization that they ultimately make infrastructure projects, private or public, succeed or fail. Truly listening to and understanding project stakeholders is the only path to success.
Beier Engineering wants to provide this unique career background to design and construct your building or civil infrastructure project. Complex problems do not usually require complex solutions.

I had the opportunity to work with Darrin Beier on a few projects during the time when our careers crossed. The first assignment Darrin had was to begin a construction management/inspection practice at our company. He accomplished this in a year or so and was given a company award noting his accomplishment.
One project that Darrin and I worked on together was the construction management of installation of automatic toll collection facilities at two locations, Dixon and Dekalb, on the western portion of the Illinois Tollway. Darrin was the Project Manager and led his team to a successful completion of this $70M project.
Because of the success of that project, our company was awarded the construction management CM contract for another automatic toll collection system on a more heavily trafficked section of the Illinois Tollway. The cost for this project was approximately $48M.
One other major project was the installation of a new commuter rail overhead catenary system and signal system for NICTD (Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District). Project cost was approximately $125M. The NICTD representative always gave Darrin and his team the highest marks on the periodic evaluations.
